Alooooohaa! Wowwee. Check out this New Moon coming up! This is no ordinary New Moon. (secret, Luna flows with change, so there is no such thing as an ordinary Moon ; )
This one is particularly potent however, and much anticipation precedes it. On April 8, the Moon is new in Aries, and brings with it a total Solar eclipse. Eclipses are very powerful times of endings and new beginnings. Being in Aries, the first sign of the Zodiac, the theme of new beginnings is reiterated. Archetypes for Aries include the Warrior, the Daredevil, and the Pioneer. Its energy can be raw and edgy. If you’re experiencing this as an intense, or stressful time, you’re probably right on track! That stress is intended to produce in us Arian qualities, such as courage, assertiveness, decisiveness, and strengthened forces of will. It helps us clarify who we are, by helping us to set boundaries around our priorities.
While this is a North Node eclipse, the South Node is in Libra. Relationships are the larger context that most of these circumstances will arise within. The objective is to break unhealthy patterns and dynamics in the way we relate to other people. There is a reforming of our own identity that wants to happen within the context of these relationships. At this point in the journey, the ones that can allow us space and grace to grow into better versions of ourselves will be welcome partners, the ones that cannot… well… they cannot.
Conjunct Chiron, the Wounded Healer, there is a profound opportunity for healing to occur when we utilize Arian gifts as fears arise. There is a reclamation of personal power available.
It is important, however, especially under high pressure circumstances (as many will experience at this time) to be wary of Arian shadows: the inappropriate use of anger, rage, or attempting to overpower others, are all Airan pitfalls.( just imagine a warrior gone rogue… it’s not a pretty picture) With Chiron in the mix, overly exaggerated fear can be up for some as well.
When working with strong Aries, it's important to move energy. Consider picking up the workout routine. Physical exertion can be so helpful!!!
For further clues on how to navigate this time well, we can look to Mars, ruler of this Lunation. Mars is forming a tight conjunction to Saturn. This can feel uncomfortable to say the least. Mars wants action! It knows what it wants, and it is not interested in waiting! Saturn, on the other hand, cautions us against rash behavior, and asks us to have a long term perspective. These two collaborating looks like massive amounts of determination and energy for long term success. It also looks like determination to stand in our own integrity. In Pisces, this moment may be less about action, and more about waiting to receive a vision that can inspire future action.
The opportunity for change will continue to strengthen as Jupiter and Uranus move towards an exact conjunction on April 20.
Between the New Moon, and this conjunction we’ll experience a bit of magic called Mercury cazimi. Right now Mercury is retrograde, asking us to review, ponder, and listen for messages, rather than rush forward. It’s a time to observe, and process. On the 11th, Mercury will move into the heart of the Sun. This is a powerful time for messages to be revealed in synchronistic fashion. It’s a time to get quiet, tune in, and listen. There may be missing puzzle pieces that show up to help complete a bigger picture.
It’s safe to say this is no ordinary Mercury retrograde either. After cazimi, Mercury will conjunct Chiron on the same degree that the eclipse is happening. This may give us further insights into the Arian wounding that we’re healing and reshaping.
Then, on the 18th (19th for some) Mercury will retrograde into a rendezvous with Venus (it's important to use pretty words like “rendezvous” when speaking of the Goddess of Beauty ; ) Venus will have just transited the North Node. Perhaps here we’ll receive some cosmic assistance in understanding the patterning we’re healing from, and some more clarity around how we want to be within our relationships. It’s possible people from our past will show up around this time too. If so, there’s a goldmine of learning through the reflections they offer of who we used to be (and who we no longer are).
Helpful tip: The folks feeling all of aforementioned energies the most strongly are probably those with planets between 15 and 25 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn, or if an angular house cusp (houses 1, 4, 7, 10) falls within these orbs.
